Top 5 Riding Destinations (According to ChatGPT)

Writer's picture: David ParsonsDavid Parsons

I decided to ask our old friend, ChatGPT, what it considers to be the top 5 motorcycle riding destinations in the U.S. and no surprise, a few of them are familiar to us from recent trips. I spent a good portion of my life in the hills of Appalachia and the view there never gets old. We are blessed to live in a beautiful country, but North America overall has an abundance of places to discover and explore.

Without further ado, here is the top 5 according to ChatGPT:

  1. Pacific Coast Highway (California): Known as one of the most scenic routes in the world, the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) stretches along the California coastline from Orange County to Mendocino County. Riders can experience breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, rugged cliffs, and iconic landmarks like Big Sur and the Golden Gate Bridge.

  2. Blue Ridge Parkway (North Carolina and Virginia): Spanning 469 miles through the Appalachian Mountains, the Blue Ridge Parkway offers spectacular mountain vistas, lush forests, and winding roads that meander through charming mountain towns. Fall foliage season attracts riders from around the country, but the Parkway's beauty can be enjoyed year-round.

  3. Tail of the Dragon (Tennessee and North Carolina): With 318 curves in just 11 miles, the Tail of the Dragon is a legendary stretch of road that offers an adrenaline-pumping ride for motorcyclists seeking thrills. Located along the border of Tennessee and North Carolina, this iconic route is surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains.

  4. Beartooth Highway (Montana and Wyoming): Dubbed "the most beautiful drive in America" by late CBS correspondent Charles Kuralt, the Beartooth Highway traverses through the Beartooth Mountain Range in Montana and Wyoming. Riders will encounter jaw-dropping scenery, including alpine lakes, snow-capped peaks, and switchback turns that challenge even the most experienced riders.

  5. Going-to-the-Sun Road (Montana): Cutting through Glacier National Park in Montana, Going-to-the-Sun Road is a marvel of engineering and offers motorcyclists an unforgettable journey through pristine wilderness and towering mountain peaks. The road crosses the Continental Divide and provides awe-inspiring views of glaciers, waterfalls, and alpine meadows.

These destinations represent just a fraction of the incredible riding experiences awaiting motorcycle enthusiasts in the United States. Whether you prefer coastal cruises, mountain passes, or scenic highways, there's a ride for every preference and skill level across the diverse landscapes of America.
